Varicose Veins Featured Article

What are Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins are extremely common but there are still many people out there who are not aware of what they are and how they develop. Varicose veins are basically enlarged twisted veins that make a person’s leg look like a road map. They are gnarled veins that have blood pooling in them, most often a result of damage to the valves.

For many people a varicose veins condition is a mild and often temporary condition but for others they can become serious and even be so debilitating that they cause the person to have to stop doing normal, day to day activities that they once enjoyed and found normal.

What are the Symptoms?

As with any other condition there are certain symptoms that one may experience as a result of the onset of varicose veins. This includes an achy or heavy feeling in the legs or other area of the body, itching around one or more veins, and skin ulcers near the affected area.

As soon as you notice any of these signs you will want to get in to see your doctor as soon as possible. They will need to make a proper diagnosis and assessment before you will be able to go ahead with any treatment.

Also keep in mind that there is another condition, known as spider veins, which is quite similar to varicose veins but also very different. At this appointment your doctor will be able to differentiate between the two and let you know exactly what condition you are dealing with.

Treatment

Of course one of the most important steps of all when it comes to a varicose veins condition is treatment. There are a few different options here, and as a patient you will need to work with your doctor and come to a decision on which is going to be the best for you.

Keep in mind that just because one treatment works well for one person this does not mean that it is going to work at all for you. There may have to be a bit of trial and error involved here, to find out what works for you and what doesn’t.

This condition can be incredibly hard to deal with but it is important that you have patience, and what with all the effective treatment options available today, you will be able to find one that works for you and get back to looking and feeling like your regular old self again in no time.

Do You Have Bags Under The Eyes?

Bags under the eyes giving you a problem?  If so, you’re not on your own!  This condition affects people of all ages, including adolescents all the way up to the elderly.  No matter your age, or whether you’re using acne products or wrinkle skin cream, it’s almost a sure thing that you’d do almost anything to get them to go away.

If you’re like most people then you may have tried all the average home remedies like putting slices of cucumbers on your eyelids.  This remedy actually works because of the cold cucumber, instead of anything particular about that particular vegetable.

While you certainly can get results from home remedies like that, you can receive much better options in a commercial product.  The trouble is that there are so many options!  Sadly, some of these selections will not give you the results you want.

Having bags under the eyes requires you to use something with inflammation reducing properties.  One tip is to use Preparation-H on the under eye bags.  It actually does work in a quick pinch.  So, if you have a special event you can always do that if there’s not much time to prepare.  Be careful to make sure none of the cream gets into your eyes.

Though something like Preparation-H can work, it’s mostly best to stick with a product that was specifically created for the under eye area.  This will help to ensure your eyes don’t get bothered and you’ll know that the product is designed to work.

So, where can you find a product to eliminate bags under your eyes that really is effective?  One of the first things you can do is read magazines and watch for the latest news developments.  It’s amazing how often new remedies are available after testing for effectiveness.

Even though there are always new treatments they do not all work.  That is why you have to be responsible enough to do your research!  Some internet sites have already done the work of assessing products for you.  These internet sites can give you a good idea of what other people’s current experiences are.  Then you can feel good using the product.

After you’ve selected your method for removing the bags, you need to follow the package book of instructions.  You might be anxious to see results straightaway, but you have to remember that it can take a bit of time to work.  The happy news is that getting rid of bags is often simpler than wrinkles since any remedy with anti-inflammatory properties can make them better.

Another addition to eye remedies, you can also look into getting an eye-lift.  That’s a drastic fix that you can use if nothing else has ever gotten results for you.  Right now, it’s best to stay with a product that’s inexpensive and has a good record of getting results.

Another thing to consider is that many wrinkle cream products also contain anti inflammatory ingredients.  If you feel that your skin is in need of an wrinkle cream, you should be able to buy one product that will handle both things.

Skin Acne Product: What to do If It Doesn’t Work

Trying to find the perfect skin acne product that will work for you is not an easy task and it is likely you know exactly what this process can be like. There are hundreds of different products and of course if we are to believe all the marketing, they all promise the world. And as if that were not difficult enough, it is your skin after all and you don’t want to be testing all sorts of weird and wonderful remedies on yourself like a lab rat.

Skin acne is such a very personal and at the same time a very public skin ‘disorder’ to have to deal with. Almost everyone has had to deal with it in some form or another during their lifetime. Is there anything worse than feeling like you are carrying around a big lobster stuck to your face all the time?

In fact that image has been used in a commercial to sell a skin acne product. The real tough part though is purchasing a product you hope will cure your skin acne only to be disappointed with little or no results. This kind of thing happens to thousands of people all over the world.

So what do you do when an off the shelf skin acne product, or even a prescribed one for that matter, lets you down? Well there are two other, slightly more drastic, options you might consider.

Acne Laser Treatment

The laser procedure to treat acne has been successful for many people. They way it works is tiny lasers are used to reshape the surface of the skin and remove dead skin cells. The newer skin underneath then becomes visible. For a lot of people who have undergone this type of acne treatment the result has been more radiant, even younger, looking skin.

Acne Surgery

The other alternative you could try is to have your acne treated surgically. The procedure normally involves both treating the present acne condition and in addition removing any acne scars which may be present. If you are considering this approach, you will need to make an appointment to see a doctor. The best route may be to first see your doctor and have him or her recommend a specialist.

As mentioned, acne laser treatment and acne surgery are more drastic measures one could take and should only be done with the advice and assistance of a doctor who specializes in these areas. Also be sure that you have tried at least a few options of off the shelf or over the counter skin acne products first and given them the appropriate amount of time to work before you make your decision.
